Getting here
Our shop is on Vendor Row at the Glamis Sand Dunes, on Highway 78 next to the Glamis Beach Store. Every route ends on Hwy 78. Drive times are rough and assume no traffic.
- From Brawley: Hwy 78 east about 27 miles, roughly half an hour.
- From El Centro: north to Brawley on Hwy 86 or 111, then Hwy 78 east.
- From San Diego: I-8 east to El Centro, north to Brawley on Hwy 86 or 111, then Hwy 78 east to Glamis. About 3 hours.
- From Los Angeles: I-10 east to Indio, Hwy 86 south along the Salton Sea to Brawley, then Hwy 78 east. About 4 hours.
- From Phoenix: I-10 west to Blythe, then Hwy 78 south to Glamis. About 3½ hours.
- From Yuma: I-8 west to Ogilby Road, north to Hwy 78, then west to Glamis. About an hour.
Coming from Arizona? Glamis is on California (Pacific) time. From early November to mid-March, that's an hour behind Arizona.
Bringing your own vehicle into the dunes to camp? From October 1 to April 15 it needs a BLM permit from isdpermits.net. Our rental UTVs already have a current plate, registration and OHV sticker. Our permit guide has the details.
