Booking and payment
How do I book?
Pick your dates and machine on Book a UTV, or your trailer on Book an RV, and pay the 25% reservation deposit. You'll see the full price at checkout. Your dates aren't held until the deposit is paid. Online bookings run up to 6 days. For 7 days or more, call us.
When do I pay the rest?
The deposit goes toward your balance. For a UTV, the balance is charged to the card on file the morning of pickup. For an RV, the balance is due on delivery day. UTV rentals are plus tax. RVs have no sales tax.
What's your cancellation policy?
Your 25% reservation deposit locks in your dates. Deposits are not refunded as cash or credit card, but cancellations or date changes can receive store credit:
- 2+ weeks before your rental start date: store credit for the full deposit.
- Less than 2 weeks, but at least 2 days before: store credit for half the deposit.
- 1 day before or same day: deposit forfeited, no store credit (no exceptions).
There's no refund or credit for an early return.
How does the security hold work?
It's a hold on your card, not a charge: $2,500 per Commander or Maverick X3 DS / MAX DS, $3,500 per X3 RS, RS RR, XRS or any Maverick R, and $500 per RV. UTV holds go on the morning of pickup, RV holds on delivery day. We release the hold the same day the unit comes back clean. Your bank can take up to 7 days to show it, and longer on a debit card. More in our guide to deposits, insurance and damage.
Can I use a debit card or cash?
Debit works for the deposit, the balance and the hold. The hold goes on a physical card in the renter's name that matches their ID, and credit works best. Cash holds only with a manager's OK, so call us first.
Is insurance included?
Every UTV rental includes the required vQuip Adventure Shield, and it's already in your checkout total. It's trip insurance: liability if the driver injures someone or damages someone else's property, plus accident medical for riders. The optional damage waiver caps physical damage to our machine at the deductible. It never covers mechanical damage or liability, and belts, clutches and axles are always charged.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes, in $100, $250, $500 and $1,000. Gift cards and store credit never expire and can be used on rentals only.
Pickup and riding
Who can drive?
Only the primary renter, and nobody else at any time. The driver has to be 25 or older with a physical driver's license. A passport, state ID or international driving permit works as ID for riders who won't drive, not for the driver. See the full UTV rental requirements.
How old do riders need to be?
Riders can be any age. A parent or guardian signs for anyone under 18, and one parent can sign for up to 6 kids. Every rider signs a vQuip waiver before pickup: no signed waiver, no ride. vQuip emails you a "Register Now" link to forward after you pay the deposit (check spam), or riders can sign at the counter.
Where do we pick up the UTV?
At our shop on Vendor Row, 5775 E Hwy 78, Brawley, CA 92227, right next to the Glamis Beach Store. We don't deliver UTVs. Pickup is quick: we check your license and paperwork, hand out helmets and walk around the machine with you. Here's what to bring.
What comes with the UTV?
A helmet for every rider, handed out at pickup while we go over sizes. A whip flag, already installed. A current plate, registration and OHV sticker. Goggles, gloves and kids' helmets aren't included, but we sell them at the shop.
Is fuel included?
No. Buy flat-rate fuel in advance, or pay per gallon when you return. Either way, you don't need to refill before you bring it back.
Do you have half-day rentals?
Half-day and 2-hour rentals are available on select models (not on holiday dates); you'll see the time slots when you book.
What if it breaks down?
Call us and stay with the machine. Never leave it out in the dunes overnight. After hours, for an equipment problem on a rental, call (760) 573-6825 and press 8. More on our breakdown support page.
Do you rent ATVs or run guided tours?
Not right now. Every machine we rent is a Can-Am UTV (side-by-side), and we don't offer guided tours. See the UTV lineup.
RVs
Do you deliver the RV?
Yes. We deliver travel trailers to your camp or wash, level them and set them up, between 9 am and 5 pm. We call the day before to set the time and spot, and someone from your group needs to be there. See the trailers on our RV rentals page.
What's included with an RV?
Every RV booking includes The Basics: delivery, setup and pickup, fresh water filled, propane, kitchen supplies and an inverter generator that runs one A/C (first tank of fuel included). Interior cleaning and a dump fee are part of every booking too.
Is there a minimum stay?
Yes: 3 days, or 4 on holidays (Halloween included). RVs are priced by the day.
Who can rent an RV?
Anyone 21 or older with a physical credit or debit card in their name that matches their ID. The $500 security hold goes on that card on delivery day.
Can we bring our dog?
Yes. Pets are welcome and there's no pet fee. You cover any pet damage or extra cleaning. No smoking inside: smoking in an RV means we keep the $500 hold, plus the cost of the cleanup.
Glamis
When are you open for rentals?
Our rental season runs October 16, 2026 through April 14, 2027. We close for the summer on April 15 and reopen about October 14, 2027.
Do I need a BLM permit?
Not for our rental UTVs: they leave with a current plate, registration and OHV sticker. The BLM permit (October 1 to April 15, sold at isdpermits.net) is for vehicles you bring into the dunes yourself, like when you camp: $55 a week bought online in advance, $70 on site, or $185 for the season. Our permit guide has the details.
What are the rules out there?
BLM rules: a whip flag 8 feet high with a 6 by 12 inch red or orange flag (ours come installed), 15 mph near camps and roads, quiet hours from 10 pm to 6 am, and no glass. On our rentals: helmets on at all times for everyone, only the renter drives, no night riding, and the machine is back at the shop before closing on your last day.
What if it's windy?
Wind and blowing sand are part of the desert, and we don't cancel for normal desert conditions. Pack sealed goggles and something to cover your nose and mouth. If weather or a BLM closure affects your rental, call or text us as early as you can. Weather and BLM-closure credits are decided case by case, and any credit is store credit.
How do I get to your shop?
We're on Vendor Row at 5775 E Hwy 78, about 27 miles east of Brawley. Directions from San Diego, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Yuma are on our Contact page.
