RV Rental Details
1.) The Basics Package (required, $320 per RV rental): Instead of charging a long list of separate fees, we bundle what you need to enjoy your trip without packing up your entire house. The Basics package is required on every RV rental and includes:
- Unit Prep
- Delivery
- Setup
- Pickup
- Fresh Water Filled
- Propane Included
- Kitchen Supplies
- Inverter generator capable of running 1 AC (first tank of fuel included)
Also required on every RV booking: Interior RV Cleaning ($125) and a Dump Fee ($30). Together with The Basics, that is $475 in required charges per stay, added to the daily rate. Optional extras: linens ($25) and our Outdoor Gear camp package ($120). A mid-stay Dump & Fill is $175, offered at the delivery walkthrough. Diesel generator upgrades for multi-AC power and multi-trailer setups are available; ask us.
2.) Rates & Minimums: RVs are priced by the day. Every RV rental has a 3-day minimum, and 4 days on holidays (Halloween included). Holiday days are priced higher (Halloween, Thanksgiving and New Year’s +95%; Presidents’ Day +40%). No sales tax is charged on RVs or RV add-ons.
3.) Age, Payment & Documentation: Must be 21 or older to rent. You need a current US state driver’s license, state-issued ID or passport (international customers will need to present a passport). We will need to scan an electronic copy of your identification as well as your card at delivery. The security hold goes on a physical credit or debit card in the renter’s name that matches their ID (credit works best), and the booking, agreement, ID and card must all show the same name. If anyone else is paying for your rental or hold, we will need a copy of their ID & card in advance of your delivery, along with additional paperwork from the third party. (You must contact us in advance to set up third-party payments.) Before delivery, you sign the RV Rental Agreement and Customer Information Form online in Checkfront.
4.) Reservation Deposit & Cancellations: To reserve your rental, we require a reservation deposit payment of 25% of your rental estimate. The deposit is applied toward the rental balance, and your dates aren’t held until it’s paid.
Your 25% reservation deposit locks in your dates. Deposits are not refunded as cash or credit card, but cancellations or date changes can receive store credit:
- 2+ weeks before your rental start date: store credit for the full deposit.
- Less than 2 weeks, but at least 2 days before: store credit for half the deposit.
- 1 day before or same day: deposit forfeited, no store credit (no exceptions).
5.) Remaining Rental Payment: The remaining 75% rental balance is due on delivery day, when the $500 security hold also goes on your card.
6.) Security Hold: $500 per RV, processed as a hold (not a charge) on delivery day. We release the hold the same day the unit comes back clean. Your bank can take up to 7 days to show it, and longer on a debit card. If there is damage, the hold is kept until the itemized repair invoice is final; then only that total is captured and the rest is released. If the damage is more than the hold, or the hold has expired, the card on file is charged the difference. RVs have no damage waiver.
7.) Delivery & Checkout: RVs are delivered, leveled and set up at your camp or wash between 9 am and 5 pm. We call the day before to set the time and exact spot, and someone from your group must be there. On the morning of your last day, wash the dishes, take out the trash, turn off the lights and generator, leave the door unlocked, and text us when you’re ready.
8.) Cleaning: Interior RV Cleaning covers basic interior cleaning (sweep, vacuum, wipe-down, toilet/shower, etc.). Excessively dirty units, or units left with dirty dishes, are subject to hourly cleaning charges.
9.) No Smoking: Smoking in an RV means we keep the $500 hold, plus the cost of the cleanup.
10.) Air Conditioning: Please note that RV air conditioners are typically capable of dropping interior temps by ~20 degrees compared to the outside ambient air temperature. Camping during extremely hot weather (over 100 degrees) can be extremely uncomfortable. Hot weather can cause generators to overheat and malfunction. Running the rooftop AC excessively can also cause the unit to freeze up and malfunction. We will not be held responsible for malfunctioning generators and AC units in extremely hot weather. We offer diesel generators as an upgrade if you would like the most reliable power option available.
11.) Pets: We love our customers’ pets! Not only do we allow pets, we do not charge any pet fees! You are responsible for any damage caused by your pet(s), as well as any additional hourly cleaning charges that may be required. For customers who are allergic to pets: all of our units are pet friendly and as such may not be allergy-friendly, so please plan accordingly.
12.) NO REFUNDS: No cash/credit card refunds of any kind are issued, and there is no refund or credit for an early return. Any refund for an equipment problem is issued as store credit only. Weather or BLM-closure credits are decided case by case.
UTV/SXS Rental Details
1.) Age, Payment & Documentation: Must be 25 or older to rent. As the only driver, the renter must have a physical, valid driver’s license; a passport, state-issued ID or international driving permit works for non-driving riders only. We will need to scan an electronic copy of your identification as well as your card at rental pickup. The security hold goes on a physical credit or debit card in the renter’s name that matches their ID (credit works best), and the booking, agreement, license and card must all show the same name. If anyone else is paying for your rental or hold, we will need a copy of their ID & card in advance of your pickup, along with additional paperwork from the third party. (You must contact us in advance to set up third-party payments.)
2.) ONLY 1 DRIVER IS PERMITTED: The primary renter will be the primary driver, and you may not allow anyone else to operate the UTV at any time. If you are stopped by law enforcement, they may impound the vehicle if the driver’s name does not match the rental agreement.
3.) Riders & Waivers: Riders can be any age. A parent or guardian signs for anyone under 18, and one parent can sign for up to 6 kids. Every rider signs a vQuip waiver before pickup: no signed waiver, no ride. After your deposit, vQuip emails the primary renter a “Register Now” link to forward to riders (check spam); riders can also sign at the counter.
5.) Remaining Rental Payment: The remaining 75% rental balance is charged to the card on file the morning of pickup, when the security hold also goes on. UTV rentals are plus tax.
6.) vQuip Adventure Shield (required): $49 per UTV per day on every UTV rental, including half-day and 2-hour rentals. It is trip insurance: liability if the driver injures someone or damages someone else’s property, plus accident medical for riders.
7.) Damage Waiver (optional, per machine per day): $89/day with a $2,500 deductible (Commander XT and Commander MAX XT); $99/day with a $3,000 deductible (X3 DS Turbo and X3 MAX DS Turbo); $129/day with a $3,500 deductible (every X3 RS, X3 XRS and Maverick R). The waiver caps physical damage to our machine at the deductible. It DOES NOT cover mechanical damage (engine, transmission, clutches, axles, belts, etc.) and does not provide any liability coverage: you are responsible for any damage you cause to others or harm you may cause to yourself, your passengers, or others. Belts, clutches and axles are always charged, waiver or not, and there is no refund for riding time lost to them.
8.) Security Hold:
- $2,500 per unit (Commander XT & Commander MAX XT)
- $2,500 per unit (X3 DS Turbo & X3 MAX DS Turbo)
- $3,500 per unit (every X3 RS, X3 XRS and Maverick R)
The hold (not a charge) goes on your card the morning of pickup.
9.) Helmets: CA law requires helmets at all times while riding. We include one helmet per rider, handed out at pickup, and they must be worn at all times. Kids’ helmets, goggles and gloves are for sale at the shop.
10.) Gas: Fuel is not included. Fuel may be purchased in advance at a $30 flat rate per UTV, or you may pay per gallon for fuel on return. No need to refill before you return.
11.) Pickup & Returns: UTVs are picked up and returned at our shop on Vendor Row. Return the UTV before closing on your last day; a late return is $300 per booking plus an added rental day. Never leave a machine in the dunes overnight. If it breaks down, call us and stay with the machine; after hours, call (760) 573-6825 and press 8 for an equipment problem on a rental.
12.) Belts: Drive belt damage is a common but avoidable situation. Be sure to remove all of the old belt out of the clutches before installing a new belt. New belts must be broken in with gentle riding for the first few hours. The UTV must be shut off as soon as a belt breaks to avoid engine oil seal damage. A damaged oil seal requires a complete disassembly of the engine.
No refunds are given on inoperable UTVs due to broken belts, axles, or clutch wear!
13.) Night Riding: Due to recurring issues with injuries and damages to machines, we do not permit night driving with our UTVs.
14.) NO REFUNDS: No cash/credit card refunds of any kind are issued, and there is no refund or credit for an early return. Any refund for an equipment problem is issued as store credit only, for use on a future rental. Specifically noted: no rental refunds are given due to broken belts & broken axles. These are considered customer damage, and we will charge to replace broken belts or axles. Weather or BLM-closure credits are decided case by case.
Photos & Video
Our rental agreements include a photo and video release. Our staff may take photos and video during your rental (including at pickup, delivery, setup, return and while riding or camping) and use them, along with first names, on our social media, website, advertising and other marketing; our marketing partners, including BRP and BRP Experiences, may use them too. The renter gives this consent for themselves and for any minor in their party they are the parent or legal guardian of, and agrees to tell everyone in their party about it before the rental starts.
To opt out, the renter or any guest can tell our staff at pickup or delivery, or email info@glamisrent.com. We will make reasonable efforts not to feature that person in new posts, and to remove existing posts from our own accounts within 7 business days of a written request. We can’t recall photos or video already shared, downloaded or reposted by others, or printed.
Gift Cards & Store Credit
Gift cards come in $100, $250, $500 and $1,000. Gift cards and store credit never expire and can be used on rentals only (not counter sales).
